Cary Darling began his career as a writer for Billboard Magazine in Los Angeles before moving to newspapers where he was an arts writer/editor for the Orange County Register, Miami Herald, and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He has been at the Houston Chronicle since November 2017.
