Mariecar Mendoza is the arts content editor for the San Francisco Chronicle. In the several months she’s been with The Chronicle, Mariecar has helped manage team coverage of such large-scale entertainment events like Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara and Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco.

While she is a Bay Area native, she lived in Southern California for several years and most recently worked as the features digital editor for the Los Angeles News Group. In L.A., she led coverage of the area'sbiggest events from the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and San Diego Comic-Con International to major awards shows like the American Music Awards and Emmys. But before the glitz and glam of being an arts and entertainment editor and writer, Mariecar covered city hall politics, crime and courts for about six years in the Coachella Valley.
